About Us
Welcome to Royal Dobermans
We do not breed for non-standard colors or oversized Dobermans. Our program is dedicated exclusively to AKC and FCI-recognized standards.

At Royal Dobermans we think of our dogs as family members. All of our puppies become part of our family, right at birth. Our puppies are raised with our three young children. We believe each one of our dogs can make the transition from our family to yours a smooth one. Our dogs are temperament trained and tested, starting from a young age. We offer training courses, so your dog comes to you obedient and ready to get to work, or be a great family companion. We want to maximize the potential of our dogs. Many of our dogs go on to be therapy dogs, tracking dogs, and personal protection dogs. Our puppies come from a bloodline proven to be intelligent and athletic. We know you’ll love the Dobermans from Royal Dobermans as much as we do.

PHILOSOPHY & FOCUS

I believe that a well-bred Doberman should have multiple dimensions—and know when and how to use all of them. My dogs are living proof of the breed’s versatility: capable of personal protection, sport, and obedience, yet intelligent and intuitive enough to be gentle with family, children, and even the elderly.
Most Doberman breeders fall into one of two categories: working-line or show-line. But we don’t fit neatly into either—and we don’t want to. We’re not a show kennel, and we’re not a working-line factory. We consider ourselves a health-first program, prioritizing longevity, soundness, and genetic integrity above all—without sacrificing structure or drive.
We live and thrive in the grey area—where balance lives—and we refuse to be boxed in by labels. Our goal is to produce Dobermans with the structure of a show dog, the drive to perform, and the temperament to thrive as confident, stable family companions. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to—and that’s what our dogs represent.
Our dogs reflect the original purpose of the Dobermann: a capable, stable, and deeply bonded personal companion and protector—equally suited for home security, canine sports, or simply being a trusted member of the family.
We don’t breed for trophies or trends—we breed for health, structure, and real-world functionality.
Our Dobermanns are 100% European bloodlines, meeting FCI and AKC standards, and descending from elite working and show champions across Europe.
HEALTH & LONGEVITY
There are health concerns in every breed—no line is immune to genetic issues. The difference lies in how breeders approach them. Responsible breeding starts with transparency, discipline, and proactive health management—not guesswork. That’s why we don’t just test—we study, track, and verify.
We conduct a thorough analysis of the health and longevity history of each dog in our breeding program. This includes researching the health history of their lineage and closely monitoring the health of our own dogs as they age. By carefully selecting breeding pairs based on their health history and overall longevity, we aim to improve the overall health of the Doberman breed. Our focus on health longevity analysis allows us to produce dogs that are not only beautiful and well-tempered but also have a better chance of living a long and healthy life.
We don’t breed on assumptions. We dig into data, veterinary input, and real-world outcomes to make smart, informed pairings. Our goal is to reduce inherited defects and increase the likelihood of producing Dobermans that are not only structurally sound and well-tempered, but have a greater chance of living long, healthy lives.
This level of health strategy takes time, expertise, and commitment—but it’s the foundation of everything we do.

EXPERT VET SUPPORT

Every part of our program is built around doing things the right way, with licensed veterinary professionals involved from start to finish. Our dogs are fully health tested beyond just DNA, following OFA, FCI, and AKC standards—hips, elbows, heart, thyroid, eyes, and more. When it comes to breeding, we don’t play guessing games. We use progesterone timing, semen evaluation, and advanced artificial insemination methods, all done under strict medical supervision to protect the dogs—not just produce puppies.
HOW WE WHELP
We take great care in the whelping process, ensuring it happens in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for both the mother and her puppies. All litters are raised in our home—not in kennels—surrounded by our family, our other dogs, and real life. This early exposure is crucial for healthy development, proper socialization, and stress-free transitions.
From birth, our puppies receive 24/7 care and supervision. We monitor the health and well-being of both dam and litter closely during these critical early weeks, ensuring they get the best possible start. As they grow, we continue that same high standard of care: expert ear cropping performed by trusted veterinarians, age-appropriate vaccinations, regular deworming, and full health oversight.

HOW WE WHELP

A strong, confident Doberman starts with intentional early development—and it’s the breeder’s responsibility to prepare each puppy for success. We don’t leave socialization to chance. Our puppies are raised in a clean, private, purpose-built whelping space within our home, surrounded by children, farm animals, and everyday life. From day one, they’re exposed to household noise, varied surfaces, new environments, and consistent human interaction.
As they grow, we introduce desensitization exercises, obstacle exposure, and early confidence-building activities to shape stable, well-adjusted temperaments. We also conduct early temperament evaluations (including ATT-style testing) to help us better understand each pup’s natural traits and place them with the right families.
And when it’s time to go home, we don’t ship our puppies in cargo. We believe the care and attention they receive from day one should continue through to their handoff—because every detail matters when you’re doing it the right way.

I had an amazing experience with Royal Doberman Kennel and couldn’t be more in love with my new Doberman puppy! From the start, the breeder was professional, responsive, and clearly passionate about the health and temperament of their dogs.
I was very nervous looking for a reputable breeder for this kind of wonderful breed that are misrepresented by many. Mark was astoundingly professional, knowledgeable with a heart of gold for these dogs.
Royal Doberman Kennel would be my first and only stop for a family European Doberman. My mother is 68yrs old and my daughter is 5yrs old and we needed a family dog that could also provide protection.
After months of research in selecting a European Doberman breeder i found Royal Doberman on Google. Their website lists all the genetic testing which was very important for me in selecting a puppy. Application was easy and process was smooth.

Spent a couples years looking for the right breeder but never got that warm and fuzzy feeling until I came across Royal Doberman. After talking with Rick explaining his history with Dobermans and how he runs everything I knew I found the right breeder.
Mark and the team have been amazing and informative since day 1. That was a major plus when selecting a breeder. But the best part? Their puppies are absolute studs. The puppy we got from Mark is incredibly sweet and so fun to have around. Such a good temperament.
